Demonstrating a democratic style of leadership, the Provost, Federal College of Education, Abeokuta Dr Ayodele Adetayo Ajayi has stressed his readiness to allow free flow of suggestions, ideas, opinions and memos, from members of staff in other to promote the College administration.

The Provost while speaking at the first 2017 staff forum held at the College Aduke Maina Hall after his re-appointment for the second term in office applauded members of staff and Union for their roles in making his re-appointment as Provost a reality. He commended them for their diligent, commitment to work as evidenced in their disposition to their primary assignments.

Dr A. A Ajayi noted that the purpose of the forum was for clarification of crucial issues, an avenue for management to recognize the inputs as well as opinions of staff among others. In his words “this staff forum is something we have to do and I have said that at least once in a quarter it should be held”.

On Promotion exercises, the Provost explained that it was the duty of the Federal Government to give necessary promotion stating that government conducts and gives approval for the exercise. Also, relating to staff training and development, Dr A. A Ajayi, revealed that TETFUND has increased the fund for Masters and PhD programmes.

While speaking on Professional ethics and excellence, the Provost, appealed to staffers to work according to government regulations urging them to continue doing their jobs adequately.

Other matters extensively addressed by the Provost at the forum included staff salaries and payments of arrears, Promotion, Convocation ceremony, College projects, Health and Security, maintenance of infrastructures to mention but a few.
