The Theatre Arts Department of the College has honoured the immediate past Deputy Provost and a one-time Acting Provost of the College, Dr (Mrs) Bolatito A. Adeniji for her meritorious service and invaluable contributions to the Department and the entire College Community.
The award in recognition of her selfless service to the College was noted as a well deserved one, having served in various challenging offices in the College.
The Provost, Dr Ayodele A Ajayi who noted this at the award ceremony remarked that the services she rendered was totally selfless and prayed that God reward her accordingly.
Commenting on the thrilling stage play titled “otaelo” performed by the 300 level Students of the department as part of their Final Year Production, the Provost said that the wonderful performance by the students showed an excellent input by their lecturers and students despite the state of the auditorium.
He finally reiterated his promise in ensuring that the Department gets a befitting auditorium and new costumes. “This time next year we shall be witnessing series of performances in the new theatre building. I stand here to tell you that we are very close to it” he promised.
In her acceptance speech, the awardee appreciated Dr A. A Ajayi and staff of the College for their advice and unflinching support during her tenure as the Deputy Provost and Acting Provost of the College.
While commenting on the stage play performed by the students, Dr (Mrs) B. A Adeniji described it as a fantastic one disclosing further that people always looked forward to the periods when theatre arts students are being “initiated” into the family of performing artist.
The ceremony was well attended by the Deputy Provost, Dr Rafiu A Soyele; Director CEDEP, Dr Basill L. Wikina; Theatre Arts Department’s Matron Mrs Maltida Alalade and a host of others.
