Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFUND while on an oversight visit to the College, appealed to the Provost, Dr Ayodele A. Ajayi to ensure that the Institution complies with Federal character guideline in staff recruitment.
The Chairman of the House Committee, Honourable Aminu Suleiman who appreciated the rich Yoruba cultural heritage of the State lauded the College Management for successfully running the College in the last 41 years adding that it was in tandem with practices of the 21st Century.
He encouraged the Provost to ensure that the College maintains and sustains the level of achievements recorded so far, promising that the Committee would continue to give its supports.
The Provost, Dr Ayodele A Ajayi, who identified the timely visit of the Committee to the College at a time that crucial decisions would be taken on the upgrade of Colleges of Education across Nigeria, expressed optimism that the College would benefit from their Visit and thereafter requested that the College be upgraded to a Degree Awarding Institution going by the quality of facilities and staff available in the College.
Dr Ajayi thereafter briefed the Committee on the challenges facing the College making it known that the College looks forward to the Committee’s support.
