FCE STAFF SCHOOL ABEOKUTA ORGANISES MAIDEN CAREER DAY WITH DEBATE AND SPELLING BEE COMPETITIONS

The Federal College of Education Staff School, Abeokuta has on Tuesday, 26th February, 2019 organised its maiden edition of the Career Day which was held amidst joy and funfair. The pupils who were dressed in different Professional attires were happy and proud of their chosen professions. Some pupils chose to become Civil Engineers, some chose to become Nurses, Medical Doctors, Pilots, Aeronautic Engineers and Teachers, the mother of all Professions.

Speaking at the occasion, The Chairman, Parents Teachers Association, FCE Staff School, Abeokuta Dr C.A.K Awe Mathias enjoined the pupils to avoid following their friends in their chosen Career as this may affect their future lives. She advised that they should strictly follow their minds when time comes to choose their Careers later in life. She thereafter appreciated the organisers of the Programme for packaging such a brilliant and life motivating Programme.

Earlier, the Chairman Organising Committee, Mrs Josephine Aboaba stated that the essence of the Career Day was to assist in redirecting pupils’ focus on developing their potentials on their choices of course of study.

Highlight of the event included talks by various professionals, a rendition by the Pupils on various Professions. A Debate with the topic ’’ TELEVISION, NECESSITY OR HARM’’ and Spelling Bee had earlier been organized among Pupils of the upper primary. At the end of the Debate, Primary five pupils emerged winner while Primary four pupils won at the Spelling Bee.

Present at the Programme were Dr C.A Akintade, Chairman, FCE Staff School Management Board; Chairman, Staff School PTA, Dr C.A.K Awe Mathias; Headmistress of the School, Mrs E.O Okpara; Chairman Organising Committee, Mrs Josephine Aboaba; other Members of the School Management Board and PTA, invited Professionals, Teachers and Pupils of the School as well as the Information Directorate Crew.
