REGISTRY REMAINS ONE BIG FAMILY... AKINOLA

The former College Registrar, Alhaji Rafiu Abidemi Akinola, while officially handing over the Registry to his successor, Dr Gabriel Adedayo Adebayo on Monday, 2nd March, 2020 said that, the College Registry remained one big family no matter its challenges.

Alhaji Akinola while appreciating God, who had kept and sustained him in the last ten years in office, noted that the College was lucky that the new Registrar emerged internally. He stated that prayers and words of advice helped in the course of his journey adding that if at any point he had stepped on toes, it was not intentional as he always felt disturbed when anyone was hurt. He therefore solicited support from everyone for the new Registrar noting that he should be given full support and unalloyed loyalty.

Dr G. A. Adebayo in his address returned all glory and appreciation to God Almighty who made it possible for him to emerge as the College Registrar. He reaffirmed that the Registry, the custodian of records, would remain one big family as there would be no division in his tenure adding that due regards would be accorded to everyone and would always tap from the former Registrar’s wealth of experience.

Other speakers at the handover programme admonished the new Registrar to display humility in the discharge of his duties and advised him to always seek for counsel from his predecessor. They appreciated God and the Directorate of Information for initiating an official handover in the history of the College Registry and prayed for its sustainability. They equally prayed that God would grant him the needed wisdom to sail through in the new office.

Representing the Unions, the Chairman NASU, Comrade Waheed Adewuyi appreciated God for the life of Dr Adebayo and also thanked God for the outgoing Registrar saying that the College was peaceful based on his listening ears. He prayed that the outgoing Registrar would continually enjoy God’s favour and prayed that the incoming Registrar emulates his predecessor’s good deeds.

Prayers were then offered to both the outgoing and the incoming Registrar.

The ceremony was witnessed by Directors Information, Audit, Sports Council, Medical Centre, Works and Physical Planning, all Deputy and Assistant Deputy Registrars, Union representatives.
