MUSLIM COMMUNITY LAYS FOUNDATION OF ULTRAMODERN MOSQUE

The Muslim Community of the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta on Tuesday, 15th September 2020 laid the foundation of its ultramodern Mosque situated within the College premises.

The Provost, Dr Ayodele Adetayo Ajayi while addressing the occasion acknowledged the support of the Muslim Community in taking the College to an enviable height. He also appreciated them for embarking on such a lofty project adding that the project would continue to enjoy the support of the College Management.

Earlier, while delivering his address at the foundation laying ceremony, the Chairman of the College Muslim Community, Alhaji Nurudeen Olanrewaju Sodipe lauded the Provost in leading the College noting that the Provost being the first indigenous Provost was also a pioneer lecturer in the Department of Christian Religious Studies. He added that the Provost had made footprints in the sand of time.

Highlight of the occasion was the handsome donations by members of the Muslim Community towards the project.

Prominent personalities at the foundation laying included but not limited to the College Provost, Dr A.A Ajayi; Deputy Provost, Dr R.A Soyele; Registrar, Dr G.A Adebayo; College Librarian, Dr G.O Oyewole; Bursar, Mr O.A Alabi; the immediate past Registrar of the College, Alhaji R.A Akinola; the Chairman Muslim Community, Alhaji N.O Sodipe, Dr K.A Salawu, among other notable personalities.
