The Nigeria Universities Commission on Monday 24th January, 2022 visited the College to accredit Degree courses run in the College in affiliation with the University of Ibadan. Professors Ngozi Nwajiogu and Ukeje Lidelma of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology and Nassarawa State University, Keffi respectively, led the teams.
While welcoming the Accreditors, the Provost, Dr R.A. Soyele gave a brief of the College and the Centre for Degree Programmes (CEDEP). According to him, the College was blessed with eggheads having over two hundred Academic Staff as PhD holders. He stated that since inception, the number of students’ enrolment kept increasing as no academic session had been lost except for the COVID year.
Speaking on behalf of the Science team, Prof. Ngozi Mbajiogwu appreciated the College’s hospitality since their arrival and noted that accreditation was a means of evaluating infrastructures, courses and facilities available in an Institution to know if it was in line with the requirements of the Universities Commission and that their coming was not to witch-hunt but to add value to the College. In the same vein, the Arts team leader, Prof Ukeje Lidelma went in line with the Arts team leader adding that their coming was to compare what was on ground with the NUC laid down principles. She expressed that they were delighted to be in the College.
At their final exit, the Accreditors commended the College for her hospitality, commitment to work and conducive atmosphere in which the College operated emphasising that they were pleased to come to the College.
